Nova Rehabilitation Acupuncture Chiropractic offers comprehensive lab testing to evaluate internal body chemistry to maximize health and wellness.

How do you know what your nutritional supplementation you really should (or should not) be taking? Did a healthcare professional make recommendations for you? How were those recommendations determined? Let's stop guessing.

We base nutritional recommendations on objective lab (blood, urine, stool, hair) values to identify your unique needs and monitor your progress. This comprehensive analysis evaluates your individual body chemistry and produces an extensive detailed report. This detailed report is then used to develop your specific health improvement plan from which dietary and nutritional supplementation recommendations are made.  Follow up testing is then repeated after a period of time to make sure the plan is being implemented and goals are being achieved.

Food Inflammation Testing (FIT) identifies immune hypersensitivity to foods. Food hypersensitivity response in the body is different from the allergic response. Both are important and need to be identified.

Why is this important?
Food sensitivities and related diseases affect over 100 million people worldwide and cause a variety of illnesses ranging from skin rashes and headaches to chronic intestinal disease. Any food antigen entering the bloodstream can produce symptoms associated with food sensitivities:

Acne                                                          Arthritis
Asthma                                                     Constipation
Dermatitis                                               Diarrhea
Eczema                                                     Fatigue
GERD                                                         Hives
Irritable Bowel Syndrome                    Migraines
Nausea                                                     Sinusitis

The FIT test is a very handy and effective way to identify and eliminate underlying factors that complicate or delay healing from an injury. At Nova we do everything within our scope of practice to help our patients recover from pain and become better adapted to withstand and endure future stressors or challenges.

The FIT test measures IgG and C3 complement reactions to 132 foods and additives which cause delayed food sensitivity. Food sensitivities begin when food antigens cross the gut epithelium and evoke an immune response leading to the production of the IgG antibody. Excessive underlying inflammation then keeps the body in a systemically irritated state which can then magnify inflammation and delay healing from musculoskeletal injuries.

Who is a candidate for this test?
Any person suffering from a recurrent, chronic condition that finds only symptomatic relief from medication would benefit from this test. Especially patients that have had full medical work up and treatment with their primary physician or specialist and are still struggling. People suffering from chronic musculoskeletal issues are also good candidates. If  you have seen the appropriate specialists, had xrays, MRI, have been through multiple rounds of physical therapy or chiropractic care and still having issues and no clear answers why you still have this chronic pain, you are a candidate for FIT testing.

How does this help?
Once food sensitivities are identified these foods can be eliminated. By eliminating these food irritants, patients can then normalize the healing process or even eliminate the primary cause of their chronic inflammation that was otherwise unidentified.  This, in turn, maximizes the body's natural ability to heal and self-regulate, allowing the body to recover to a greater degree.

FIT testing is performed by either finger-prick or venipuncture and sent to an outside lab.
